Good place for a quick shawarma fix. I always get it to go and eat while walking up north to finch or down to sheppard.

It was a hot Wednesday and I was mulling over what to eat when it occurred to me, oh yeah, I haven't had shawarma in a while.

I remembered this location of Shawarma Max, so I decided to pop in for a bite. The place was absurdly hot. Like, I started sweating within seconds of walking in the door. It was pretty unpleasant, in all honesty.

Nevertheless I wanted a shawarma, so I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Wrap and got it with everything. The guy behind the counter put three different sauces in there, which seemed excessive but what do I know?

After added the rest of the components and the chicken, the wrap was finished off with more sauce and placed in a press. It was ready to eat a few minutes later and...it wasn't great.

There's probably a reason a traditional shawarma doesn't contain enough sauce to fill a pint glass, as the concoction was a sloppy, texture-free mess. The pervasive flavor was garlic, and while it wasn't bad, I could've used something to cut through that richness.

The various veggies and chicken were completely lost in the face of all that sauce, and the chicken was lacking in those crispy bits that make a good Shawarma wrap even better.

I doubt I'd ever return to Shawarma Max, especially not in the summertime.

The most bizaare dining experience I've ever had.

Wanted to have a quick meal before my lash appointment at Elysia. Food was made quickly. Guy working there was on his phone for majority of the time I was there. I asked for something and he literally didnt make eye contact as he was handing me my food. He was on his phone! I wanted to laugh out loud at how ridiculous it was. Then as I was eating my food and watching the news, homeboy decides to play EDM very loudly over the speakers.  food was decent. Got fresh fries so thats always a plus. But damn. Do not expect good service here. Best to do take out.

Food is okay at best (or at least it's filling).
The rice was pretty soft (they might have added too much water that day so it's pro a my not an every day thing), and the meat was pretty dry (especially the beef). And the baklava was just okay compared to the other places I've been to in the GTA.

I had lunch today at Shawarma Max.

I ordered a chicken shawarma.  There were lots of veggies to choose from along with spreads and sauces.  Since I'm not a big veggie fan I just got tomatoes and but ordered extra chicken (for an extra cost) along with a garlic mayo and tahini.  It came to about $12 with a pop.  It was really good!  After they cut the chicken off the post, they put it on a grill to I guess heat it up more.  I'd go back and get this again.
